Placing an order
All orders must be send to our address by regular mail, fax, E-mail or can be done by adding insect specimen in the shopping basket on the website.

Your mailing must contain Your full name, address, phone- and fax number. Also the date when you are not able to receive the parcel (holidays).
The pictures shown at our website are for identification purposes only and do not reflect the specimen which you are purchasing.

Availability
All offered specimens are in stock and are subject prior to sale. During your shopping activities, availability will be checked and you will be warned in case your required quantity exceeds our available stock. If you ignore this message whilst shopping we cannot ensure the availability. Your order in only guaranteed when receiving our proforma invoice. Whilst all efforts are made to fulfil the requirements of your order, occasionally due to unforeseen circumstances (s.a…. simultaneous orders by post, fax or at the insects fairs) a product may become unavailable. In such event, you will be contacted as soon as possible. Orders are processed on a first come first served basis.

Prices
All individual prices are quoted in Euro € and USD US$ and do not include postage rates.Whilst we try to ensure that all prices on our website are accurate, mistakes can sometimes occur. If we discover an error in the price of products you have ordered we will contact you as soon as possible and give you the option of either reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it free of charge . If we are unable to contact you, we will treat the order as being cancelled. If the order is cancelled, we will refund any money which we have taken from you.You, the buyer, are responsible for the disclosure and payment of any import duties or others taxes which apply in the country to which the products are delivered. Delivery charges apply and are displayed during the order process. Prices of these charges are subject to change without prior notification.

Postage
The postage fee is an additional fee to be added to your total order amount. Several options for delivery are being offered. The postage fees are shown at our website and are based on the total weight of the parcel, size and destination.
STANDARD PRIOR: Standard envelops for eggs only.
TAXIPOST 24H: Parcels anywhere within Belgium. Delivery within 2 working days.
TAXIPOST SECUR: Parcels anywhere within Belgium. Delivery within 2 working days. With track and tracing.
KILOPOST STANDARD: Parcels to countries all over the world shipped with high priority
KILOPOST INTERNATIONAL: Parcels from 2 kg and more to all countries around the world within an acceptable delivery time.
REGISTERED MAIL: PRIOR AIRMAIL shipment including tracing of your parcel. Online tracing not available yet.
DECLARED VALUE: Insured item. The maximum for the value of an item with declared value depends from the country.
Some countries do not participate in sending items with declared value. More info about this option is available at our Declared Value corner.
For orders dropped in our shopping basket we will calculate the postage immediately on check out. The buyer is free to choose one of the provided shipment methods depending her/his needs or the risks for damaging of the goods during transit.
Livestock can only be send by means of PRIOR AIRMAIL (KILOPOST NATIONAL PRIOR and KILOPOST STANDARD PRIOR).

Quality
All dried insects are selected and categorised into several levels. All insects are supplied in A1 conditions except otherwise listed.
A1: Very good quality
A1-: minimum defects
A-: Small defects, broken antennae
A2: Poor quality mostly used for decoration

Livestock will be checked prior to shipment to ensure that they will arrive in perfect condition.

Payments
We accept payments as described below. If you click on the currency symbol on the bottom left of your screen, you can choose your countries currency, and this will display the current exchange rate of the Euro € against your countries currency.
Payments should be done after receiving our proforma invoice or automatic order confirmation. All orders have to be paid in advance. Order will be processed and send to the customer as soon the total amount is received.All bank charges in your country to be paid by yourself / the remitter

Conditions
All materials are supplied in A1 condition unless otherwise listed. All dried insects are packed in paper envelops (papilots) or placed at a card and can re-hydrate and mount by yourself. All specimens include full collecting data. All material is guaranteed with the exception of antennae damage due to postal shock. Every effort will be taken to avoid postal shock.

Import permits
Please check your local laws concerning import of living insects into your country.
US Customers: USDA requires permits for the importation and interstate movement of live butterflies and moths. See more information at Permits

CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species)
We will provide you with the permit numbers in case the specimen are listed by CITES.

Wholesale
We can offer certain species at wholesale prices. For orders dropped in our shopping basket we will provide you online with our special discount offers for quantity orders. You may always contact us for additional information.

Responsibility
We are not responsible for lost of materials in shipments sent out without the option of registered mail or for hatching butterflies during transit for deliveries sent without "PRIOR Class A AIRMAIL". In case of loss or theft of your registered item, we will credit a compensation with a maximum amount of 39.00 € per registered item. For a more reasonable refund if your parcel is lost we could offer shipments with a declared value. We are not responsible for damage caused in transit, or due to Customs inspection.

Return Policy
Your satisfaction is very important to us. All orders will be inspected before shipment. If you are unhappy with a purchase for a satisfactory reason contact us immediately. Any merchandise to be returned should be done within 14 days from date of shipment after notifying us first in case special arrangements are required.Returned goods must be shipped back in its original condition with postage covered. Until you have returned the products to us, you must keep them in your possession and take good care of them. Shipping charges are not refundable. All returns must have a return authorisation number enclosed in the parcel; otherwise they shall not be accepted. A return authorisation number can be obtained from us by E-mail.

All information, including shopping basket, personal information and payment submitted to butterflies.be is secured using Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) software to ensure your shopping experience is safe, sound and secure at all times.
